Regsiter for US Lacrosse Membership
Jackson-Reed HS Girls Lacrosse is affiliated with US Lacrosse, the sport's national governing body. In order for the team to receive US Lacrosse benefits, every player must register for an annual membership. Registration is available on the US Lacrosse website at the following link: https://www.uslacrosse.org/membership Please note that registration requires a $35 fee. If you are unable to pay this fee due to financial constraints, please e-mail girlslacrosse@dctigerathletics.com.
Practices
Pre-season conditioning sessions have ended. They previously took place on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 6:30-8 a.m. in the Jackson-Reed Auxiliary Gym (from Tuesday, January 17).
Tryouts
Tryouts for the 2023 season were held February 13-16 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Jackson-Reed High School Stadium. To participate in tryouts all players must complete the required DCIAA forms.

Rosa Fuentes
Head Coach
Coach Rosa is a native Washingtonian and Jackson-Reed (then Wilson) High School alumna. At Jackson-Reed, she played for and helped start the girls lacrosse program. Following high school graduation she attended the University of Maryland College Park where she played four years of club lacrosse. She started all four years and served as the club Treasurer her senior year. She graduated from UMCP in 2003 with a degree in Spanish Language and Literature and a minor in Business Administration. Following graduation, she coached at Archbishop Carroll High School for five years before returning to Wilson to coach in 2011. Rosa continued to play lacrosse on post-collegiate club teams for 13 years. Rosa now participates in Dragon Boat racing with DC Dragons and enjoys traveling during the off-season.
Patricia Nantume
Assistant Coach
Coach Patricia (Coach Pat, Coach Patty) returned to the Jackson-Reed Girls Lacrosse coaching staff for the 2022 season. She previously coached as an assistant in 2015 and as a volunteer in 2016, when she worked with defenders and goalies. She played club lacrosse at Ohio State as a defender as well as collegiate field hockey, where she was a captain and training lead. Inspired by her coaches here at Jackson-Reed, she sees coaching as a mission to not only teach but to also be a positive influence on her players. Coach Pat loves coaching young players-from beginners who are just learning how to cradle, to goalies improving their explosive saves, and field players looking to develop new dodges or weak-side stick skills. She looks forward to watching the improvements in her players by the end of the season. Outside of coaching, Coach Pat enjoys big mountain adventures such as backpacking and skiing, cycling, and weightlifting.
ABOUT GIRLS LACROSSE
Girls Lacrosse is a spring sport at Jackson-Reed. There is a Varsity team and a JV team. The teams play against public and private schools in the DC area. Go Tigers Girls LAX!

Trivia Night Fundraiser on Friday, March 3, 7:30 pm
Register now (click here) to join your fellow lacrosse families for a virtual Trivia Night competition to benefit Jackson-Reed Girls and Boys Lacrosse! The event will be run by a professional MC and all funds raised will support the teams. All you'll need to participate is the latest version of Zoom and a smartphone. If you missed the fun last year, we promise you a great time!
