Volunteer Opportunities

Tiger Boosters is a parent-run, all-volunteer non-profit. We support over 30 sports programs and over 40 teams, plus the athletic department. We need your help!!

Pick your preferred commitment and project, whether it’s a bigger or smaller project, year-long or one-off. We are glad for the help. Contact the Tiger Boosters Co-Presidents at wta.inc.president@gmail.com.

OFFICER POSITIONS

Vice President - Fundraising:

  • Co-chairs and/or oversees major WTA fundraising events.
  • Co-chairs and/or oversees major WTA fundraising events.
  • Works with Fundraising Co-Chairs/Coordinators to provide input and resources for fundraising events

Vice President- Administrative and Team Operational Support:

  • Oversees and manages all administrative and team operations.
  • Oversees and maintains all contracts and administrative accounts including Corporation, DCRA Non-Profit license, vendor contracts, equipment rental contracts, coaching contracts, etc.
  • Coordinates with teams and team parent liaisons

Co-Treasurer:

  • Manage, track and process all financial transactions and responsibilities of the Tiger Boosters club.
  • Work with contractors to include, certified CPA, bookkeeper, banking institution, payroll services, and financial service vendors.

COMMUNICATIONS POSITIONS

  • Webmaster/System Administrator:

Maintains and updates Tiger Boosters website pages. Acts as point person for teams regarding their own pages, including access. (Does not update team pages.) Primary account manager for all for media, social media, and software accounts.

  • Master Calendar Keeper:

Maintains and updates Tiger Boosters website pages. Acts as point person for teams regarding their own pages, including access. (Does not update team pages.) Primary account manager for all for media, social media, and software accounts.

  • Master Calendar Keeper:

Collects athletic news and updates, including wins/losses, awards, special recognition of members of the Wilson athletic community (and when relevant, alumni). Issues newsletter to Wilson athletic community (parent and students). First coordinator will get to design newsletter and determine initial frequency; goal is eventually weekly, but will start less frequently.

FUNDRAISING POSITIONS

  • Sponsorship Coordinator:

Identifies, solicits, tracks, and develops sponsorship opportunities with local community and corporate businesses for Tiger Boosters. Works with individual teams to confirm consistency between sponsorship opportunities.

  • Corporate Fundraising Coordinator:

Coordinates and identifies corporate funding (such as employer matching funding opportunities).

  • Foundation and Community Fundraising Coordinator:

Coordinates and identifies foundation and community grants for funding opportunities.

  • Team Fundraiser Opportunity Tracker:

Identifies, tracks and sets up accounts for fundraisers that teams use. Maintains the list for teams. This position does NOT manage the actual fundraisers that teams do, but rather tracks successful fundraisers and determines best practices for teams.

TEAM/COACH LIAISON POSITIONS

  • Team Business Advisor:

Communicates and coordinates with teams on Tiger Boosters operational support to include transportation, fundraising needs, financial advice, scheduling, event support, etc. Teams contact the TBA prior to any event to make sure they are taking advantage of all opportunities.

  • Coach Mastermind Coordinator:

Plan and coordinate the three planned mastermind events for head coaches. This includes finding venue, menu planning, coordinating speakers and agenda, tracking invitations. (These are evening events at a local restaurant for about 50 people.)

OTHER COORDINATOR POSITIONS

  • Volunteer Coordinator:

Organizes volunteers to help with Tiger Boosters volunteer positions and helps recruit for Tiger Boosters and big events using Signup.com

  • Tiger Gear/Merchandise Coordinator:

Manages inventory of WTA spirit wear, etc. (like magnets). Sells gear (or coordinates sellers) at events, like games, fundraisers, and end-of-year picnic.

  • Preferred Vendor Coordinator:

Vets, coordinates and manages vendors used by our teams for uniforms (purchased by team, not Wilson athletic department), spirit wear, travel (buses, airlines, etc.), hotels, equipment (not purchased by Wilson athletic department), etc. We are also looking to identify a local professional travel agent to help teams to plan their travel.
